Are you passionate about technology and developing software, and want to join one of the fastest-growing sports and health technology companies in the world? Then we would love to hear from you.

Our multidisciplinary Product team is split into two functions, Product Strategy and Engineering. The team comprises full-stack Software Engineers, Product Owners, Mobile Application Engineers, Quality Assurance Engineers, UX/UI Designers, and a whole Product strategy team.

What you will do

Lead a new Platform engineering team and incrementally take ownership of patterns and practises for CI/CD processes. Good things take time to do well, so the team will initially focus on improving the infrastructure as code reference implementation of an APO and its associated Azure resources before expanding into other areas of CI/CD.

Currently, API teams own and deploy their cloud infrastructure (primarily PaaS and SaaS on Azure and AWS) using infrastructure as code (primarily Bicep but also Terraform). The reference implementation will allow teams to focus on their code, whilst improving their security, compliance, costs and time-to-business value through improved developer experience.

  • Ownership of Infrastructure as Code reference implementation ensuring reliability, security, cost optimisation, operational excellence and performance efficiency
  • Collaborate across teams: developers, cyber security, operations and product strategy
  • Provide early advice and feedback on problems or security risk
  • Introduce and champion best practices in all things DevOps
  • Lead the new Platform Engineering team, providing coaching to the team members

Is this you?

  • Proven experience deploying and managing Azure cloud platforms in a leadership or senior DevOps role (or platform engineering role). Someone who has deployed Azure Web Application Firewalls and Virtual Networks at scale. We make use of much of the Azure PaaS offerings, with microservices commonly using App Service, Azure SQL, Key Vault, Storage Account, Backup Vault, Application Insights, Service Bus, Azure DNS, among others.
  • AWS experience desirable but not necessary. We use S3, Route 53, CloudFront, Media Services, among others.
  • Strong expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code. We mostly use Bicep and some Terraform.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools. We use GitHub Actions and Octopus Deploy).
  • Experience with application monitoring. We use Azure App Insights, Azure Monitor and DataLust's SEQ.
